Enjoy!

For the weekend

Louis Vuitton Keepall

Let’s start with a classic and an absolute fan favorite – the Keepall from Louis Vuitton. The iconic duffle bag was first released in 1930 and because of its major popularity, the bag is still in production today.

Louis Vuitton started out as a vendor for luggage which explains why this bag is so well done. It’s recommended for light travel, but given its size and material you’ll be able to fit everything you need and more into it. The Keepall comes in four different sizes: 45, 50, 55 and 60. The three smaller sizes are all within the standard size for cabin baggage making them ideal as carry-ons when flying. If you’re however more into driving or taking the train, all sizes will be perfect for dumping in the trunk or leaving on the cabin rack.

The duffle is crafted in a durable and thick canvas, meaning you don’t have to worry about wear and tear as it can most definitely handle it. It has one large component and no inside pockets, so you can stuff it just the way you like it.

Prada Nylon series

If there’s one brand you can always count on, it’s Prada and their nylon. Nylon is a highly durable material, water will for the most part roll right off it and it’s super easy to clean – what more would you want in a travel bag?

Prada started their nylon series with the Vela backpack in1984 and has since released multiple other bags in the same material, including duffles. The best part about them? Depending on size, they’ll all either fit under the seat in front of you on a plane or in the overhead compartment. Check out the full range of nylon bags from Prada in order to find the right travel bag for you – we’re having a hard time choosing!

Celine Boston

The Celine Boston duffle bag has a resemblance to the Louis Vuitton Keepall and there’s nothing wrong with a classic but sometimes you might want something new and fresh – the Boston bag is a great alternative! It’ll fit your clothes, toiletries and everything else you might need for a weekend away.

Just like the Louis Vuitton Keepall it’s crafted in canvas (the newer models are made from leather) and has leather handles and detailing, so it’s highly durable and won't take offense to being thrown in the trunk or in the overhead compartment.

Gucci Carry-on

Another great duffle bag is the Gucci Carry-on. It has a large interior with room enough to pack all the clothes and shoes you need as well as two internal zipped pockets, perfect for the small items you don’t want to lose on the way. It has two top handles as well as a shoulder strap (and the straps can be used as backpack straps too!). This particular duffle also has a protective cover on the bottom, so you’re not nervous to put it on the ground.

The Gucci Carry-on is available in all leather, nylon and canvas so you can choose the bag that meets all your needs.

For longer than a weekend

Louis Vuitton Horizon

The Louis Vuitton Horizon was first imagined by Marc Newson and is the fruit of a great collaboration between Newson and Louis Vuitton. This Horizon suitcase is available in three sizes: 50, 55 and 70, and is “rolling luggage for the 21st century traveler” as described on the Louis Vuitton website. The Horizon 50 measures 36x50x19 cm, the 55 measures 38x55x21cm  and the Horizon 70 measures 46.68.26 cm.

The Horizon50 and 55 is a lightweight four-wheeled carry-on with a flat interior. It has a surprisingly large interior with a single zip compartment and mesh lining. The two smaller sizes can be brought on board and can therefore be used for both short or long trips, whereas the Horizon 70 is too large to be brought onboard and is more fitting for longer trips. This size also has two zip compartments as well as a zipped pocket.

The Horizon 50 and 70 are only available in canvas, but if you’re looking for a Horizon 55 you can choose between canvas, Taiga leather and Epi leather.

Prada cabin suitcase

Prada is for the women who like to be subtle but who still appreciate the finer things in life. Prada has created a cabin suitcase – you can choose between Saffiano leather or nylon – and it has an exterior pocket, top handle and of course the timeless logo plaque on the front. Inside you’ll find a zipped and a buckled compartment as in any other suitcase.

If you want to fly under the radar but still enjoy stealing extra glances from your fellow fashionistas, a Prada suitcase might just be the one for you.

Louis Vuitton Bisten

A nod to the olden times! The Bisten from Louis Vuitton is available in seven (!) sizes: 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 76 and 80. It’s made to be carried by a single handle located on the side and therefore instantly makes you think of vintage suitcases.

All sizes are crafted in durable monogram canvas, has canvas lining as well as a canvas interior with leather trim and golden brass corners. On the inside your belongings will be kept safe by buckles like in modern suitcases.

Some sizes will be possible to bring onboard a plane and will fit either under the seat in front of you or above your head, and some will be too large and will need to be checked in. Depending on where and how long you’re going, you can choose the perfect Bisten for you.

Gucci Structured Suitcase

The structured suitcase from Gucci has a very traditional suitcase shape, resembling vintage luggage you’d carry in a single handle on the side (like the Louis Vuitton Bisten), has gold studs all along its rim and is crafted in diamante leather. The suitcase is however modernized and has two wheels, making it that more practical and comfortable than it seems at first glance.

This one’s definitely for vintage lovers and you have to be lucky to find it secondhand but boy, if you find one, you better not let it go.

The good thing with shopping secondhand is that you can get your hands on good quality items at good prices and they’re already used – you don’t have to be afraid to scratch them, get them dirty or use them. Especially with travel bags, they’re meant to be used.
